| Tammy has been active in theatre arts for over 31 years. She has directed more than 100 shows and acted in hundreds of productions from Georgia to California. Tammy served Fayette Community Theatre as Artistic Director from 1989 to 2000. She is a produced playwright and a member of FCFT's professional troupes "A Company of Friends Educational Productions" and "The FCFT Dinner Theatre Senior Ensemble." Tammy toured Southern California as a troupe member of Cerritos College Children's Theatre Company from 1984 - 1988. She is a former Disney Cast Member and a published playwight. As a Special Education Teacher in California from 1983 - 1989,Tammy developed a highly successful theatre arts program for the special needs high school student. She has designed curriculem and taught hundreds of classes and workshops dealing with the art of stage performing. Tammy has seen many of her students go on to very sucessful careers in Television, Film and Stage. She is a recipient of the Bank of America Highest Achievement Award in Theatre Arts and the Press Telegram Arts Award. Tammy is married to Kevin Barton and they will celebrate 18 years of marriage in November of 2008. When away from the theatre, which is hardly EVER, she loves to travel to her favorite place in the entire world---DISNEY WORLD! As the Artistic Director of FCFT, Tammy looks forward to bringing high quality family entertainment and theatre arts education to the families who live in the South Metro Atlanta Communities. |
| The Artistic Director is responsible for establishing and maintaining the artistic vision and integrity of the theatre in all its manifestations. Anything from the choice of plays produced to advertisment and casting of the actors must be approved by the Artistic Director. It is the Artistic Director's function to make sure that all creative endeavors at FCFT correspond to the artistic misson set forth in our Mission Statement. The Artistic Director is answerable to the Board of Directors and of course the audience. |
